Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

Known as the Premier Ibanag City, Tuguegarao City is the capital of the Province of Cagayan and the of Region 02. Being the capital, it is the center of commerce and education in the province and perhaps the region.

Things to Do During your Visit
  1. Visit the St. Peter and Paul Metropolitan Cathedral and the St. Hyacinth Church
  2. Visit the Buntun Bridge. With a span of 1.124 km and crossing the majestic Cagayan River it is the country’s longest river bridge.
  3. Try our Pancit Batil-Patung. Looking for a place that serve this special pancit is not hard as there are hundreds of panciterias scattered around the metro.
  4. Take a Calesa ride. Aside from the thousand of tricycles that run through the busy streets of the city, the calesa is a popular mode of public transportation in the city.

How to Get There

By Land

There are a number of bus companies such as Victory Liner, Baliwag Transit, Florida Liner, Dagupan Bus and Deltra, that ply the Manila-Tuguegarao route. Buses from Manila are commonly stationed at Cubao or at Sampaloc. I suggest taking the night trip as travel time from Manila to Tuguegarao may take around 10-12 hours. Fare ranges between P 600- 750 depending on the type of bus you intend to take.

For independent motorist, take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and exit at the Sta. Rita exit or  you can also take the Subic, Clark, Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) and exit at La Paz, Tarlac.

By Air

Daily flights are available from Manila to Tuguegarao. Travel time is about 1 hour.

Where to Stay

Being the capital and economic center of the province, a number of hotels and resort can be found in the city.

10 Pinakamataong Bayan Ng Cagayan

Population Graph Province of Cagayan

Ang Tabon Man ay tinatayang 47,000 years old habang ang Callao Man naman ay 67,000 years old, mas matanda ng 20,000.
